Things you need to know
All our range hoods 218 series are made of 18 gauge 304 stainless steel material. All hoods SV198 series are made of 20 gauge, 304 stainless steel. All sinks are made of 16 or 18 gauge 304 material.

Stainless steel is the material used in manufacturing 90% of our products. All stainless steels contain principally iron and a minimum of 10.5% chromium oxide "CrO" (other elements used to make stainless steel as well are nickel, nitrogen and molybdenum ). It is the chromium in the steel that combined with oxygen to form a thin, invisible layer of chrome-containing oxide. This layer is only a few atoms thick due in part to the ability of the chromium atoms and oxide atoms to pack together tightly. This layer protects the steel underneath and has a unique self-healing ability. Should the layer become scratched or cut, the newly exposed steel will form another protective area with oxygen in the air .Corrosion resistant (rust resitant) metal, Stainless steel is easy to sanitize and clean. It actually isn’t stain-proof, it simply stains less than other steel. It is also an earth friendly material, it can be melted down, recycled and made into something else. Stainless steel is 100% recyclable. In fact, over 50% of new stainless steel is made from remelted scrap metal, rendering it an eco-friendly material.It is important when purchasing any item that claims to be made of stainless steel to ask if the steel is completely stainless or if it is just top-level plating with a cheaper steel or metal underneath. All our products are made of 100% stainless steel material.
TYPES STAINLESS STEEL:
A commonly used grades stainless steel for range hoods and sinks are Type 430 (S43000).The basic alloy contains 11% chromium and 1% manganese.
Grade 304 is the most common grade stainless steel used in our industry. It has a minimum of 18% chromium and 8% nickel, combined with a maximum of 0.08% carbon.
Stainless Steel Grades 200 alloy contains 17% chromium, 4% nickel and 7% manganese.
GAUGES STAINLESS STEEL:
Gauge (or gage) sizes are numbers that indicate the thickness of a piece of sheet metal, with a higher number referring to a thinner sheet. The equivalent thicknesses differ for each gauge size standard, which were developed based on the weight of the sheet for a given material.

Maintenance/Cleaning stainless steel appliances
Do not use abrasive cleaners that will scratch the surface.
Depending on the surface finish of your stainless steel, abrasive cleaners can cause scratching. Duller finishes probably won’t show scratching as much as mirror or highly polished finishes. Also, remember that stainless steel is a non-magnetic alloy. You will need to find another place to stick your memos if your family uses the refrigerator as a bulletin board. Stainless steel kitchen will never go out of style.
